bio
Gill German is an emerging London-based industrial designer with a wide range of interests. In her creative work, Gill focuses on adapting design to meet client and user needs (e.g., physical, social, cultural, or market driven) with consideration for responsible product development. She is very detail oriented and has excellent verbal and written communication as well as sketching and rapid visualization skills.
By the age of 24, Gill has already worked on a wide range of projects individually but prefers the dynamic creativity of cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural collaborative design. She is challenged and motivated by all aspects of the design process from initial concept development and prototyping, user testing, packaging, and final marketing.
Gill's degree in Industrial Design from Carleton University has given her strong technical knowledge about materials, finishes and manufacturing processes. Within her educational programs and work experience Gill has assumed numerous leadership roles drawing upon her motivation, social, and organizational skills. Her fervent pursuit of international experience stems from a year studying in Italy and early education in French.
Gill is passionate about soft and hard goods design, but is also fascinated by trends and the evolving relationships between user and product. Outside of work, Gill has diverse interests ranging from photography and working with textiles to outdoor recreation and sports.
