raz adjustable tension backrest (2008)

The prototype for the backrest has undergone numerous significant modifications and a number of iterations to achieve a final prototype stage for testing prior to production. The initial direction of the project incorporated numerous adjustment features, but clinical feedback identified the need for a simple, easy-to-clean product that limits the spread of infection -- a increasingly important trend in hospital and rehabilitation settings.

During my time at Raz I have designed an upgraded duo-density foam seat, a structural adjustable tension backrest, lateral support pads, and components for a bariatric chair being prepared for production, as well as illustrated use and assembly manuals.
