raz lateral support pad (2006)

Prior to my involvement as an industrial designer at Raz, their commode chair components had been highly developed as engineered parts. My industrial design experience enhanced the physical form to meet users needs in terms of ergonomics, aesthetic value, and perception.

One of my initial responsibilities was to develop lateral support pads for the chair. Lateral support pads are often used on wheelchairs to assist individuals with weaker lateral stability. The pads were required to rotate to the rear of the chair to clear obstructions during a transfer to or from the chair. This product was released and made a permanent addition to the Raz product line.
